KATIE GARRETT

     In college, I studied Mass Communications in order to pursue a career in broadcast journalism - in my mind, one of the ultimate ways to tell stories for a living - that is until I discovered the Motion Pictures major. Once I found the world of production, I knew I didn't want to pursue anything else. THIS is truly a lifestyle for me. 

     I graduated from Belmont University in 2015 as the first graduate from the film program, and I spent that summer 2015 interning in Los Angeles for both BBC Worldwide and Phoenix Pictures. When those internships ended, I returned to Nashville to follow job opportunities PAing for the show Nashville. From there, I bounced around wherever I could: features, series, reality, live awards shows and more.

     When I'm not working (which is rare), I try my best to find work / life balance by traveling. I've road-tripped across the United States stopping to camp at as many National Parks as I could and have backpacked around different parts of Europe on several occasions. I strongly believe that by getting out of my comfort zone whether it be by traveling to a new country or taking on a more challenging job opportunity, I learn additional skills and meet new people all of which add to the portfolio of experience I bring to the table on both a personal and professional level.
